As you may already be aware, the Ministry of Education has announced that school boards in Ontario will continue to provide families the option to enroll in remote or virtual learning for the 2022-2023 school year.
As a board, we believe in-person learning best supports the needs of all of our K-12 students as it allows students to fully flourish and it supports their learning, well-being and full participation in all aspects of our Catholic schools. At the same time, we recognize and understand that there are unique circumstances that may require families to choose remote learning for next school year.
Parents and guardians wishing to opt their child(ren) into remote learning for the entire 2022-2023 school year are asked to call their home school to make the appropriate arrangements by Friday, April 29. If schools do not receive a call for your child(ren), they will assume that your child(ren) will be learning in-person in September and that your mode of transportation to school has not changed from the 2021-2022 school year. Please contact the school if you have any questions.
Remote learning will continue to be available to students at the elementary and secondary level. Please note that in the secondary panel, specific programs that focus on practical components are best served through in-person learning and will not be available virtually. Students will be contacted by their Guidance counsellor to make alternate course selections if they have one of these courses in their timetable.
We understand that the last three years have been challenging for our school communities, who have navigated through remote learning periods and uncertainty as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of our families for their on-going support.
Wishing you a safe and healthy Easter season!
